UAE referees shortlisted for World Cup
The world football governing body Fifa has officially approved the appointment of UAE referees Ali Hamda, assistant referee-1 Saleh Al Marzouqi, assistant referee-2 and Omer Sulieman in the preliminary list for the 2014 Brazil World Cup.
UAE international referee Ali Hamad was named by the AFC Referees Committee to lead the UAE officials in the international football extravaganza.
The nominated referees and their assistants will undergo an integrated programme before the announcement of the shortlist in January 2014, six months before the kick-off of the finals.
The programme starts with the 2013 World U-17 World Cup and the U-19 World Championship.
