Sunday’s race at the Duindigt race course is not only the final race of the Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival’s Wathba Stud Farm Cup series but is also the Dutch Arabian Championship 2012. Athlete Del Sol, winner of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup in Berlin this year will take on three other winners of the Wathba Stud Farm Cup here in Duindigt earlier in the season.
While Blitter’s Plonja, winner of the first two races in the series bids to end with a third win, Detroit, winner of Wathba Stud farm Cup V and Shrek OA, winner of the IX race are part of the 10-strong field.
Gillian Duffield’s Sadiq also joins the competition from Newmarket to make it a very open finale to the Wathba Stud Farm Cup race series here in The Netherlands. Other runners are Belgium’s Omni DA, Kentaur Kossack, Mirabella de Sol, Lillij Ann and Shakira DA.
“This is one of the strongest field for a Wathba Stud farm Cup race and we are delighted with the response from Purebred Arabian race horse owners and trainers in the region,” said Lara Sawaya, Director the Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival and head of IFAHR ladies racing.
