Dubai — Emarati Warriors will take on Globlink West Star Shipping in the opening match of the Fourth Interface Transworld Ramadan T20 Cricket Tournament which gets under way at the Fairgrounds of the Dubai Men’s College from June 15.

UAE-born players will get a chance to showcase their talent in this tournament which is being organized by Dubai Cricket Council and carries a winner’s purse of Dh15,000 while the runners-up team will take home Dh10,000. There will also be cash prizes worth Dh5,000 for special performances.

There is no entry fee for the Emarati team due to the support provided by DCC Chairman Abdul Rahman Falaknaz.

The draw for the tournament was held at the new DCC office at Dubai Silicon Oasis. Four teams in each group will cross swords for the two slots which will take them to the knockout stages.

The team with the best net run-rate of the knockout matches will go directly into the final. The other two teams will play the semifinals with the winners going into the final.

Alubond Tigers, Team Interface, New Medical Centre and Al Faraa Contracting Company comprise Group A, while Lanka Lions, Light Speed Garage, United Bank Limited and Fly Emirates make up Group B.

Multiplex International, Emarati Warriors, One Stop Tourism and Globelink West Star Shipping are the teams in Group C.
