Al Faraa clinch victory

Chasing Nissan Al Masaood’s total of 164 runs, Al Faraa managed to overhaul the total in the last over thanks to Sudhir Singh’s unbeaten knock of 15 runs off six balls.

Al Ain — Al Faraa Cricket Club clinched a thrilling last-over win over Nissan Al Masaood Automobiles in the Winter Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament at the Al Ain Sportplex ground on Tuesday. The tournament is being organised by Al Ain Cricket Everest Sports under the auspices of the Al Ain Cricket council.

Chasing Nissan Al Masaood’s total of 164 runs, Al Faraa managed to overhaul the total in the last over thanks to Sudhir Singh’s unbeaten knock of 15 runs off six balls. Sudhir hit a six and a boundary as he along with Mujahid Amin (1 not out) saw their team through with three wickets and just a ball to spare. Opener Ijaz Bashir gave the Al Faraa innings an ideal start by scoring 64 runs off 40 deliveries which included seven boundaries and two sixes. Al Faraa skipper Chetan also contributed with 33 off 23 balls.

Earlier, Al Masood, put in to bat first, scored 164 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Zaheer Baig top scored with 43 off 40 balls while M Usman contributed 33 off 21.
