Dubai — Al Ahli FC, who are aiming to lift their first AFC Champions League title, have taken a giant step towards big things by having Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano on board. And despite the media reports that said the deal has been denied by the Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin, the Dubai-based club’s management confirmed the move through its chairman Abdulla Al Naboodah.
The club has also announced the news on their official website. “The details of the financial contract and the medical report will follow in the coming days,” Al Naboodah said on his personal Twitter account.
After having ousted their country’s rivals and winners of the inaugural AFC Champions League Al Ain, Al Ahli made it into the quarterfinals of the continent’s club premier league and they are drawn against Naft Teheran.
