ADSC bags ME award

This year’s Middle East award for the best sports events agenda has been bagged by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC).

The ADSC collected the award for its sports agenda to mark, commemorate and to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the UAE National Day. The ADSC won the award for its sports events agenda to mark this dear anniversary as 25 sporting events were organised in the span of 30 days.

More than 28 thousand sportspersons and athletes took part in those events that were watched by 59.1 thousand spectators.

Those events included many types of group and individual games and witnessed the participation of teams representing 12 sports clubs working and functioning under the umbrella of ADSC.

The prize was awarded to ADSC in a ceremony held at the Rashid Hall of the Dubai International Trade Centre recently.

The awarding ceremony was part of the Middle East Events Exhibition 2012 held at International Trade Centre in Dubai.

The awarding ceremony was attended by officials and representatives of all competing bodies that were nominated for 20 categories of this award.

The award has been presented to ADSC in recognition for the well and sounded organizing of all sporting events that were held to mark the 40thanniversary of the UAE National Day. ADSC won the award based on aspects and terms of managing all those sporting events, the diversity and various types of those activities, number of participants, and number of spectators.

This award is just another reflection of the great successes ADSC had and has been achieving under the chairmanship of Shaikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council as he is leading the council to develop the sport sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi based on the 2030 vision and plan of the Government of Abu Dhabi.

Mohamed Ebraheem Al Mahmood, General Secretary of ADSC, congratulated Shaikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the winning of this prominent award assuring that ADSC is doing just nice building on the wise and farsighted ideas and vision of Shaikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Council.

“The development of the sport sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, ADSC’s strategic partnerships with prominent international and local entities and institutions, sound cooperation and coordination amongst all concerned sporting and social entities in the emirate of Abu Dhabi are thanks to the wise directives of Shaikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan,” Al Mahmood reiterated.

Al Mahmood expressed his thanks and gratitude to members of the board of ADSC for their leadership role and their close follow up of all plans and actions of the council.

Al Mahmood also thanked chairmen of the boards of all sports clubs in the emirate of Abu Dhabi for their keenness to be part in the sport events that led ADSC to win this prominent award.

The General Secretary of ADSC concluded by saying our winning of this award will push ahead and motivate us to exert more efforts to realise useful sporting projects that will help consolidate the development of the sport sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
