“We want to highlight our uniqueness with the care beyond boundaries initiative. Road accidents are a major contributor to fatalities and disabilities. Basic first-aid care can come to the rescue in many cases but most people are not aware of how to react,” says Dr Azad Moopen, Chairman, DM Healthcare.
Seminars, talks, media campaigns and advertisements will drive the campaign as a new helpline number (04 4400 500) will provide information and assist patients. The group also plans to launch a mobile health unit, which will house diagnostic equipment along with multimedia facilities to reach patients in remote locations. Doctors from the group will assist in medical camps as the mobile unit can also reach schools for public talks.
“These initiatives are in the public interest and it is one of our way’sof giving back to the community. We are trying to reach more people in the lower income strata who are not covered by medical insurance,” added Dr Moopen.
The group will spend Dh2.5 million on the health campaign, as people will also benefit from discounts on health check ups at Aster Clinics. A special ‘Aster Care’ loyalty programme will also be launched as part of the group’s 25th year celebrations. — muaz@khaleejtimes.com
