The project, a joint partnership between MedHealth & Belhoul Life Care, is the first medical centre to implement the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for green buildings in Dubai, a statement from MedHealth Medical Centre said.

“It is a matter of pride that this world-class green building is located in Jafza and we are optimistic about its role especially since this is the first phase of a world-class Hospital,” said Salma Hareb.

Ahmed A. Hussain, chief executive officer, MedHealth Medical Centre, said the facility blazed a new trail in green building technology. “We regard this medical center a part of Dubai’s relentless efforts to emerge as a city that adopts stringent measures when it comes to sustainability. We think this centre will open the doors wide for more hospitals and medical centers to go green.”

“I am proud to announce that we are the first Medical Centre to implement His Highness’s directive, thus contributing to the relentless efforts to turn Dubai into a health-oriented city driven by global best practices and benchmarks of pollution-free sustainable development,” said Hussain.

Hareb added that opening up this medical center in Jafza was a clear evidence of the rapidly increasing role of Jafza and its firm commitment to provide integrated world class services to companies that operate from here to serve the entire region.

The new center will save more than 50 percent of normal consumption of water in ordinary buildings through innovative technologies of collecting air conditioning water as well as rainwater and the use of recycled water for irrigation.

Also, the taps at the center save water from loss as well as the building itself will diminish CO2 emission remarkably due to installing special chilling systems in place.

The new building is “green” since the first days of shoring to construction and finishing which includes a smoking free environment as well as a filtration of any pollution of air entering the building. The glass used guarantees suitable temperature and reduces the usage of lighting.
