Legal troubles for P. Chidambaram

Former Indian finance minister P. Chidambaram is in a spot after an Indian high court denied him anticipatory bail in a corruption case. This is the latest dramatic development in Indian politics. However, there have been mixed reactions to this judgement. Many parties have supported the verdict by the HC, with the exception of the Congress party.  Chidambaram will appeal to the Indian Supreme Court. He has submitted in his petition that the high court's observation that he was the "kingpin" in the INX Media case was completely baseless and that the FIR was politically motivated. Whether he will succeed in his attempt or not is something one will have to wait and watch.
