I think there are a lot of movies other than Gully Boy that are deserving of being nominated to the Oscars. Article 15 starring Ayushmann Khurrana sheds light on the local rural police-politician mafia. Section 375, starring Akshaye Khanna shows how legal systems to can be manipulated to harm someone. Bollywood has made several movies highlighting social issues that plague life of people. And audiences have appreciated them. Indian cinema is no longer only about dance, music or frothy romance. Some of these movies provide a rather unhappy or negative picture of India. However, the new genre of movies tell how the country is evolving; they are also about human courage and sagacity, which will appeal to universal audiences.
