Following the successful inaugural edition, the second "VAT Clinic" forum will be held on Wednesday, December 6, which will be attended by a large number of executives and industry professionals.
The forum will be hosted by the UAE's first and leading English newspaper Khaleej Times in cooperation with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and supported by Qadi Accountants (QA).
QA is a boutique advisory firm that provides services ranging from Audit, Accounting, Advisory and Taxation. More than 100 ICAI members will attend the forum where four of its tax experts will address questions of the members across different sectors.
"In addition to questions and answers, this time we will have high-level executives of CFO level from a major UAE entity who will share their day-to-day experience, challenges and expertise about the VAT," said Naveen Sharma, chairman, ICAI (Dubai chapter). The second edition of invitation-only "VAT Clinic" will be held on Wednesday, December 6, at Khaleej Times office in Al Quoz.
This edition, too, will have a marathon Q&A session for nearly two and a half hours, which will enlighten the audience about how to meet the deadline as it approaches. The third edition of "VAT Clinic" will be organised at the Indian consulate in Dubai on 15th December, said Sharma.
The UAE will impose 5 per cent VAT from 7am on January 1, 2018. The questions of the attendees will be answered by TP Anand, chief strategist, Leap - Business Excellence Advisory; Anurag Chaturvedi, senior director, indirect tax, Crowe Horwath; Radhika Verma, VAT advisor, partner - LN Co. Tax Advisor; and Hemant Mundhra, director, Slant Agency, DMCC. - waheedabbas@khaleejtimes.com
