Officials receiving emergency calls at 999 have handled numerous calls of people complaining of something as frivolous as a headache.
But one 53-year-old went a step ahead and called 999 to complain about a fast food restaurant staff putting onions on his burger. He was arrested after doing so.
On reaching the restaurant the police officers also came to realise that he had challenged the manager to physical fight over the food.
According to a report in the Metro, Leslie McDonagh actually informed the emergency call operator about receiving the wrong meal and about his inability to consume onions due a 'severe allergy'. He was under the influence of alcohol before the incident took place.
He also fell to the floor and caught hold of the police officer's leg when he was asked to leave the premises. He also spat on a person's face while he was being chaperoned out of the restaurant.
He later admitted to charges of being drunk and disorderly in a public place at the magistrates' court.
On the day of the incident, McDonagh had actually left from a party early to meet his wife for their anniversary and happened to stop at the fast food restaurant to get himself a snack before he got home.
Leslie McDonagh was handed a punishment of completing a 12-month community order along with carrying out 120 hours unpaid work.
He was also given a fine of £190 (Dh913).
