The 2010 Series is held upon the instructions from His Highness the President Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
“Through the support and backing of Shaikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, chairman of the EEF,, the 2010 season of the President of the UAE Cup Series has expanded upon its original mission to promote and raise the profile of Abu Dhabi and the UAE as a business and tourism destination. “The huge campaign to introduce the UAE heritage and culture to the English people has paid off. The heritage tent has proved that we have a great history,” he said.
“This effort will provide a forum to showcase the Arab culture and heritage at the world-class racecourse. It is aimed to enrich Abu Dhabi’s tourism attractions and provide race-goers with a unique recreational and learning experience of the history and culture of Abu Dhabi,” he added.
“There’s more to come in the remaining rounds of the series. I’m delighted with the success which has been achieved and we will see more success in the final round in Kentucky, USA in October,” he added.
“I would like to thank all those who have contributed to the success of the series including the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Etihad Airways and the Office of the Brand of Abu Dhabi.
“We are thrilled to have the ongoing support of our existing racecourse partners such as Newmarket, Ascot, Paris and Moscow. This year’s schedule has attracted the most talented purebred Arabian horses to the Group 1 contests.
“The idea of the series came at the right time to show the world the rich traditions and heritage of Abu Dhabi and the UAE. The wonderful story of this region can be told and experienced,” he said.
