James Bond actor Sean Connery has died at the age of 90, according to a statement from his family as reported by the BBC.
The Scottish actor was best known for his portrayal of the British super spy; he was the first to bring the role to the big screen and appeared in seven Bond films.
During his long career he won an Oscar, two Bafta awards and three Golden Globes.
His other major films include The Hunt for Red October, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and The Rock.
He won Best Supporting actor for his role as an Irish cop in The Untouchables.
