The Aster Clinic caters to the needs of residents in the area, especially families, as the community continues to grow, said Dr Keya Shivadey, gynaecologist at the clinic. Along with a gynaecologist, the clinic has a pediatrician and a general practitioner on hand.

Dr Azad Moopen, chairman of DM Healthcare, which owns the chain of Aster clinics, said the growth of the Business Bay community made it necessary to set up shop in the area.

“This area has a large number of people moving in, a large family crowd, so there was a requirement for a medical facility. “What we do is when there is a population moving in, and there are new commercial or residential projects coming up we make it a point to have our presence here,” Moopen said.

The clinic will be open from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week.

Dr Hari Menon, general operations manager for Aster clinics, said convenience for the residents in the community was the main reason why the clinic opened up in the area.

“This is one area that didn’t have any clinics or doctors and there are a lot of residents who had to go to Bur Dubai or other places for services,” Menon said.

DM Healthcare has been in the UAE for 25 years and operates 26 Aster clinics across the country and several others in Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar.
