Breast cancer campaigns in Al Quoz, Jumeirah

The Pink Caravan breast cancer awareness campaign by Sharjah-based charity, Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP), will reach out to women in Al Quoz and Jumeirah areas in Dubai this weekend.

Today, the campaign will be held at Al Khail Gate gated community in Al Quoz from 9am to 6pm. The event is organised by the Ladies’ Wing of the Al Khail Gate Malayalee Association (Akgma), affiliated to the Indian Community Welfare Committee under the patronage of the Indian Consulate in Dubai, and Prime Medical Centre.

Open to all women residing in the community for free, the camp will have awareness classes, learning of self-examination method and clinical examination by lady doctors. “We are expecting more than 1,000 women to benefit from this charitable event organised as part of Akgma’s Humanity Programme,” said Praseetha Rajesh, chairperson of the ladies’ wing.

Tomorrow, the Pink Caravan will be hosted by Be You boutique at Jumeirah Plaza. “The event will start from 5pm to 10pm. We are expecting a decent number of audience with over a hundred sent invitations,” said Farha Shaikh, manager of the outlet. This would also be a free event.
