Netanyahu came under personal attack from Defence Minister Yoav Gallant for failing to rule out an Israeli government in Gaza after the war
The new premises, costing more than Dh10 million, are expected to be formally inaugurated by the mid of next year.
"The main purpose of shifting to the new premises is to meet the rising demand and increased production. The new premises will be close to the wells on which we depend to obtain the drinking water rather than desalinating sea water," Haji Al Hajiri, General Manager of the plant, told Khaleej Times yesterday.
"As sea water is our main source, we frequently face problems due to oil spills caused by ships passing by. Apart from the hazardous effect of the spills on the surrounding environment and on human health, we are forced to stop all our plants operations for a few days until the spills are contained. This interruption in production is inconvenient for both the plant and the customers," said Mr Al Hajiri.
Elaborating on the main advantages of the new location and the new source of the drinking water, he said: "I'm sure that in the new location we will not face problems as we will not be hindered by oil spills. Besides, we will not have to add minerals and materials to make it potable."
