Awadh Food Festival in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI - Capital gourmets can now savour all the delicate flavours of the famed cuisine of Awadh, in the North Indian capital of Lucknow, during the Awadh Food Festival, which is currently on at the Kwality Restaurant inn Abu Dhabi. The festival will continue till March 17th.

Briefing newsmen at the opening of the festival on Monday, Vinay Varma, Proprietor of Kwality Restaurant, said the festival is the second in a series planned by Kwality, following last year's successful Hyderabad Food Festival.

He noted that master chefs from all over India have been invited to showcase a variety of new flavours and culinary experiences.

Chef Sandeep Ahluwalia and his associate chefs, Noushad Ali, son of Master Awadhi, Chef Gulam Rasool of the Taj Group of Hotels, and Anis Khan, who has trained under Kader Khan, another renowned expert of Awadhi cooking, will be present at the restaurant to ensure the authenticity of the menu selection and preparation.

He said the restaurant would also wear a festive look, being specially decorated with the plush interiors and the private dining areas recreating a 'Nawabi' ambience.

The festival a la carte menu can be sampled either at lunch or dinner.

Main sponsors of the event are Union National Bank, Air India, Al Hamra Residence, and co-sponsors include Khaleej Times, 106.2 Hum FM, Kohinoor Basmati Rice and Masafi.
