The UAE has resumed issuing entry permits except for work permits starting from September 24, authorities have announced.
The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC) on Thursday morning said the resumption of issuing visas is within the framework of easing restrictions and strengthening the country's efforts towards supporting recovery plans of the country's economy.

This is in conjunction with enabling the work system based on striking a balance between implementing the Covid-19 precautionary measures on one hand and the return of tourists and resumption of economic activities and various developmental aspects on the other hand, state media agency, Wam, has reported.
The authority noted that the decision is in response to the current data represented in the package of precautionary measures and travel mechanisms taken by the air transport sector, as well as the application of various practices aimed at combating the coronavirus pandemic.
The FAIC had on March 17 suspended all visas to all foreigners, with the exception of diplomatic passport holders as a precautionary measure to prevent and contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
