Sultan tours Souq Al Jubail

His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, made field visits to a number of projects being developed by the emirate’s Public Works Department (PWD) on Wednesday.

Dr Shaikh Sultan stopped at the site of the new Souq Al Jubail project. The Dh173-million project entails construction of a two-storey souq with 91 fish shops, 67 meat shops and 212 vegetable and fruits shops. The souq will also have three first aid rooms, a coffee shop and six prayer rooms.

He was briefed by PWD Chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi about the new souq designs and facilities and the project completion dates. Shaikh Sultan ordered expansion of the existing mosque and the surrounding car parks in the area to accommodate more worshippers.
