Decarbonising the transportation sector will be an important step for the country to meet its net zero goals in 2050
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has recalled the time when “some people” warned him that he was bound to fail as he became the Head of the UAE Government.
This came in a special message Sheikh Mohammed posted as he completed 15 years as the Head of the UAE Government.
“The last 15 years that I spent with teams in the government were not easy. Some people had warned me about complete failure when I started as the Head of the Government,” Sheikh Mohammed wrote. “I remember the people who asked me to keep the successes I had as Ruler of Dubai, and not to take on more responsibilities.”
But Sheikh Mohammed made history as the UAE Vice-President with a string of achievements. “I remember important people calling me to say that they expected me to fail, but that they were wrong.
“The success is not mine; it is achieved because of my teams. It is the effort of every official who wanted change and the thousands of youths whom we trusted.”
