Shaikh Mohammed offers Eid Al Adha Prayer

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, offered Eid Al Adha prayer Friday morning at Zabeel Mosque in Dubai.

Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler, Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, Shaikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Authority of Culture and Arts, Shaikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Shaikh Mansour Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Shaikh Saeed Bin MOhammed Bin Rashid Al maktoum and a number of Shaikhs, senior officials, citizens and residents performed the prayer along with Shaikh Mohammed.

In his Eid sermon, Imam Shaikh Omer Al Khatib, emphasised the importance of remembering Almighty God and praising Him throughout the human life. The remembrance of God always brings peace to human hearts, and gives every individual the power to abstain from evil thoughts, the Imam said quoting verses from Holy Quran.

The Imam also stressed the virtues of offering animal sacrifice on this occasion and feeding the poor from the sacrificial meat. He also urged the believers to use the occasion to strengthen fraternity and love among them.

Closing his sermon, the Imam invoked God in earnest supplication for the health and wellbeing of the country’s leaders, prosperity of the people and peace of the world.
