Mohammed tours Adihex exhibition

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited the 10th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (Adihex 2012) at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company (Adnec) on Thursday.

Accompanied by Dubai Crown Prince Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Shaikh Mohammed toured different pavilions and stands, where 630 exhibitors representing 40 countries are participating. The exhibition features modern and classic samples of hunting and personal weapons manufactured by local and international companies, in addition to hunting, falconry and equestrian supplies and gears. Shaikh Mohammed toured “Tawazun” stand, a UAE national company, showcasing samples of rifles, pistols and ammunitions, and the technologies used in manufacturing these weapons.

Shaikh Mohammed also toured other stands related to falcon breeding and training, and tracking equipment, as well as the stand of Al Ghadeer Project, a UAE Red Crescent micro-financing initiative that seeks to empower Emirati women using the age-old practice of indigenous arts.

The Vice-President also visited the national, Arabian and international stands specialised in equine equipment.

Shaikh Mohammed examined the “Falcon Centre”, the national company specialised in importing, breeding and selling world class falcons. He also stopped at The International Fund for Houbara Conservation (IFHC) stand, Emirates Falconers’ Club stand, Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nayan World Arabian Horse Racing Conference France 2013 stand, Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup stand, Ajman Stud stand, and Abu Dhabi Environment Agency stand.

Commenting on the visit, Shaikh Mohammed said that “organising such an event reflects the UAE’s interest in the Arabian heritage and keenness to preserve it for our next generation”, stressing that the UAE and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries’ participation at Adihex 2012, epitomises unity of history and traditions. —
