Also present were Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of Federal National Council; Shaikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region; Shaikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor; Lt. General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Shaikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court; Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister; Ahmed Juma Al Za’abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs; a number of Shaikhs, ministers and senior state officials.
The ceremony, held under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammed honoured outstanding performances of individuals and teams from federal organisations and bodies.
He honoured a number of national figures who have contributed in laying the foundation of the federation and provided great services to the UAE and its people. Shaikh Mohammed presented the ‘Mohammed bin Rashid Sashes’ to Shaikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the late Hamouda bin Ali bin Ghanim Al Dhaheri, which was received by his son Mohammed, late Ahmad bin Sultan bin Sulayem Al Falasi, received by his son Sultan and the late Saif Saeed Ghobash Al Marri, received by his son Omar Saif Ghobash, the UAE Ambassador to Russia.
Lt. General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan assured that the excellence achieved by the participating bodies in such unique award is mainly credited to the excellence attained by the country’s leaders which is deemed a motivation to all government staff employees that propels them to reach peak of excellence in different fields.
“Year after year, as the achievements made by the UAE go up, the volume of responsibility and challenges on the shoulders of all also increases,” Shaikh Saif said, adding that hard work is required to maintain what had been achieved.
Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, appreciated the objectives of the Shaikh Khalifa Government Excellence Programme, which focuses on developing the performance of the government sector.
