Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini said the France striker will miss Saturday’s match as the team tries to bounce back following its 1-0 loss at Lyon in the opening leg of the first knockout stage of the Champions League during the week.

Madrid has been knocked out in the first knockout stage of the Champions League for the past five seasons.

Europa Press quoted Pellegrini as saying “right now we’re the best (Madrid team) of the last 15 years” and you “can’t compare us with other (Madrid) teams if we don’t win the Champions League” or Spanish league.

Madrid trails leader Barcelona by two points in the standings.
