Former Brazil Coach Scolari Attends Workshop

DUBAI - Legendary Brazilian football coach Luiz Felipe Scolari attended a workshop organised by Dubai Sports Council.

The workshop was also attended by members, managers and coaches of the Dubai clubs.

Dr Ahmad Al Sharif, General Secretary of Dubai Sports Council, inaugurated the event and thanked Scolari for attending the workshop.

During his speech, Scolari, under whom Brazil won their fifth World Cup title in 2002, shared his football experiences with the audience.

He talked about his career and how he studied to become a coach. He also stated that a coach needs to develop his training methods, tactical strategies to help his team become better.

He also spoke about his career in Brazil, Portugal and victory in the World Cup. As a Portugal coach, Scolari also helped the team finish runner-up in Euro 2004 and under him the Portuguese finished fourth in the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

He congratulated the UAE youth team for their performance in the under-20 World Cup in Egypt in 2009. He felt many players from the UAE youth team would one day play for the senior national team.
