Al Shabab Enter Final

ABU DHABI - Al Shabab keeper Salem Abdullah made three courageous saves in the penalty shoot-out to help his team reach the final of the President Cup after beating Al Jazira 3-0 in the semifinal at Shaikh Zayed Sports City Stadium on Saturday.

The two teams played a goalless draw in the regular and extra time and had to decide the result form the spot. Pedrao, Mohammed Nasser bad Adel Abdullah scored for Al Shabab. But, Subait Khater, Rashid Abdul Rahman and Ali Mabkhout failed to convert their penalties for the Abu Dhabi giants. Salem Abdullah saved the three attempts and they didn’t need to take the remaining two shots. However, Al Jazira’s dreams to end their President Cup’s drought were in vain and they need to focus on the national league to claim their first-ever League’s silverware.

The final of the President Cup will be held at the same venue in April between the Emirates and Al Shabab
