Rodrigo broke the deadlock in the 28th minute of the first half and Humaid Abdulla doubled the score-line at the half hour mark.

Younus Ahmed made it 3-0 in the 70th minute and Marco added the fourth goal in the 82nd minute.

Andre Senghore’s late goal earned Bani Yas a last minute 1-1 draw against hosts Al Shabab at Maktoum bin Rashid Stadium on Saturday evening.

Esam Dhahi headed home the first goal for the home team in the 55th minute and Senghore made it 1-1 in the 88th minute. Bani Yas Argentinean coach Calderon watched the game from the grandstand before he takes over from the national caretaker Salem Al Orfi starting from the upcoming match.

“I would like to thank the players who didn’t let me down in four games,” the outgoing coach said.

“We all work for the best interest of our club Bani Yas and I will cooperate with the new coach. In fact I didn’t see him and I don’t know whether he’s here or not,” he added.

‘I’m not a magician and didn’t make something extraordinary. They are the same players who have been prepared by Jovan Vieira. The only difference was in the manner in which I have been dealing with the players and that’s everything,” he said.

In Abu Dhabi, Al Wahda were held to a similar result by Dubai at the Al Nahyan Stadium.
