The Red Knights came from behind to reverse their early 0-1 deficit into clear cut victory to increase the woes of the crisis-hit club.

Al Ahli raised their tally to 21 points and reached the safe waters while Al Nasr slipped to the 10th position with 13 points and face a real threat of relegation to Division-1 by the end of the season unless they improve.

“The situation is very critical,” said Al Nasr skipper Mohammed Ebrahim who blamed the players for the poor performance. I believe we are responsible for what has happened and its our job to get out of it,” he said.

With five matches remaining, Al Nasr should keep eye on promoted Emirates who are struggling hard to survive relegation. “We are three points ahead of the Emirates, and any further slip will mean that Al Nasr will be relegated to the First Division for the first time in its history,” he added.

Al Nasr was founded in the early sixties of the last century as the first football club in the UAE and maintained their status as top contenders for the title and have never faced a similar situation before. “History will never forgive us if, God forbids, the club is relegated to the lower division,” he concluded

However, Al Nasr’s Ecuadorian pro Carlos Tenorio put his side in the 25th minute of the first half with a lovely move. Tenorio made the best of the beautiful one-two with Andre Diaz to beat Al Ahli keeper Yousuf Abdullah in great style.

But the home team fought back and seven minutes later Ahmed Khalil levelled the result with a lovely overhead. Hosny Abdo Rabo made it 2-1 in the second minute of the second half from the spot and Khalil added the third goal in the 73rd minute. Khalil completed a hat-trick in the 78th minute to make 4-2 thanks to the brilliant through from Cesar. Tenorio reduced the deficit to 2-4 in the dying minutes of the fast-paced clash.
