Two Emiratis in their 30s were killed and two others sustained injuries in separate quad bike accidents in Al Ain, the police have said.
The Abu Dhabi Police attributed the accidents to the riders’ recklessness and failure to adhere to safety measures.
The first accident occurred in a sandy area in the Nahal region of Al Ain on Friday, resulting in the death of one Emirati and severe injuries of another person.
The second crash, which happened in Seih Sabrah in Al Ain, claimed the life of another Emirati and caused moderate injuries to the person who was accompanying him on the quad bike.
The police said despite their repeated warnings and safety awareness efforts through social media platforms, such crashes were still being reported in the emirate.
They urged the public and quad bikers to adhere to safe driving and public safety conditions. Officials said the police are keen on increasing safety awareness through campaigns on the ground, social media platforms and various media outlets.
