Sharjah accident: Speeding kills teen driver, injures 5 others

An Arab teenage driver was killed and five others sustained serious to moderate injuries in an accident caused by speeding in Sharjah late on Sunday.

According to police officials the 18-year-old driver of the vehicle died on the spot in the accident occurred on Airport Road between intersections 3 and 4.


The official explained that the operations room of the Sharjah Police received a call about a collision between two vehicles on Airport Road. Police patrols and the national ambulance rushed to the site.

He pointed out that the vehicle that caused the accident was driven by an 18-year-old Gulf national, accompanied by two others aged 17 years and 15 years, respectively. Both the teenagers sustained serious injuries in the accident.


The driver of the other vehicle, a 30-year-old Asian, sustained minor injuries while two others in the same vehicle sustained moderate injuries.
