The participating students and those in the audience had the answers on the tip of their tongues.
Over the last three years, the only IT themed quiz has definitely gotten bigger and more challenging. With participation from over 38 schools from various emirates across the UAE, the third edition of the TCS IT Wiz-UAE edition saw boys from Grades 8 to 12 battle it out for the coveted IT Wiz trophy.

The quiz took place on Saturday at the Shaikh Rashid Auditorium in Dubai. The quiz saw six teams make it to the final round and for the second time in a row, Arpit Raorane and Manas George, Grade 12 students of The Indian High School (IHS) in Dubai, walked away with the over-all winners’ trophy.
The second runners-up were Delhi Private School (DPS) in Sharjah, with boys from Abu Dhabi Indian School coming in third.
“It feels amazing to win again. We worked very hard on the quiz and because we knew the format of the quiz, we could come better prepared,” said Arpit.
The winners will participate in the Grand finale of the TCS IT Wiz, which is scheduled to take place in New Delhi in the month of December.
“We were invited to witness the finale last year in Delhi and this year we will be participating. The competition there is stiff and looks like we will start preparing immediately for the quiz,” said a very excited Arpit. The winners walked away with an Apple iPad 4 each, along with several other goodies.
The runners-up from DPS were Madhu Singhal and Madhav Subramaniam; and Sreeradh Radhakrishna and Sethur Pradeep from Abu Dhabi Indian School took third position.
Varun Kapoor, Head of Middle East, Africa and the Mediterranean of TCS, said the quiz just keeps getting better: “It’s definitely gotten bigger and more challenging. And if you look at the standards the students have set here, it looks like students in India are really going to have a run for their money. UAE is definitely one of our more important markets and it is great to see such interest and by the looks of it, it will only get bigger.”
Kapoor added that TCS was considering taking the quiz to an all GCC platform eventually. “We are also looking to take it to students in London and Singapore,” he added.
