The programme held a familiarisation meeting attended by delegations from the government and private schools in Dubai and parents of the students who took admission in the programme. The meeting provided a general idea about the programme, and discussed its objectives and stages of execution.
It also reviewed the achievements made by the first batch by eliciting the views and opinions of the students, schools and parents.
A large section of the attendees pointed out that the programme has helped the students in determining their professional career, and has had a positive impact on their academic performance.
The team tasked with the programme, which comprises the Secretariat General of the Dubai Executive Council, Department of Human Resources, Dubai Government, Knowledge and Human Resources Development Authority and Dubai Educational Zone, are currently working on completing all the arrangements for receiving the second batch of students.
The preparations include naming the schools and students, and conducting awareness seminars for schools and for the voluntary graduates of the Mohammed bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development to encourage them to voluntarily participate in training the students on future professional planning. The programme will also follow up with the schools whose students were part of the first batch, and who will comply with the requirements of the programme for the next two years.
“We are keen on creating a supportive environment to assist students so that they can benefit from the programme,” said Abdulla Al Shaibani, Secretary-General of the Dubai Executive Council.
He said: “We cooperate with all our partners in government and public sectors as well as schools to achieve the cherished objectives which serve to develop the education sector in Dubai, and are working to welcome the second batch of students. The programme reflects the interest and keenness of Shaikh Hamdan in supporting the students of our country.”
