The GEMS Wellington Academy - Al Khail, to be opened this September, will offer the National Curriculum for England to students in the primary years initially, but will grow to Year 13 in the coming years.
Based on the successful Wellington schools, one of which has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) for the last three years, GEMS Wellington Academy - Al Khail will provide students with vibrant, inclusive and creative learning environments that encourage challenge, curiosity and choice.
Brett Larsen, Principal of GEMS Wellington Academy – Al Khail is excited about the opening and emphasised that the students’ learning and attainment will be the focus of the academy.
“Each and every individual will be inspired and guided to reach their very highest potential by a committed and caring educational team who are dedicated to bringing out the very best in all. Like all GEMS schools, our personalised and values-based approach to learning will embrace and respond to the individual student’s learning styles and need,” said Brett.
GEMS Wellington Academy – Al Khail will offer scholarships across a range of disciplines including Sports, Art, Music and Academics.
A second new school by GEMS will also be opened in Al Khail with the construction of the GEMS International School. It will offer the International Baccalaureate programme, further expanding the GEMS network of IB schools in the UAE. In the first year, the school will take students from KG to grade 5.
