GEMS plans to open 10 schools in UAE
GEMS Education has announced plans to open ten new schools in the UAE over the next two years to meet growing demand and the quality targets set by the local authorities.
The schools will have British, Indian, International Baccalaureate (IB), American and dual curriculums and will include a range of different fee levels. The company will also establish a Leadership Academy and Teacher Training Centre in Dubai.
Margaret Atack, group senior director of GEMS Education, said: “The schools will provide learning environments that spark excitement, inspire curiosity and motivate students to achieve beyond their expectations. High standards of academic attainment are achieved in all of our GEMS schools as students engage in interactive multi-media, advanced teaching pedagogy and collaborative learning.”
The new education facilities will incorporate 21st century design and sustainability features, and will be facilities that can be adapted as education delivery changes in the future.
Dino Varkey, executive director of GEMS Education, said: “With continued global demand for quality education, GEMS Education is implementing a long-term growth strategy. This will involve the expansion of capacity across all our curricula and price points in the UAE, an increased focus on new schools and partnerships across the GCC and expansion globally in those markets with very positive underlying demand dynamics for a broad range of private education models.”
The company will continue to support governments through its consultancy arm GEMS Education Solutions.
