DON'T MISS: 5 Emirates announce stricter Covid safety rules
The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) on Thursday confirmed that this shift to e-learning will apply to all students in the emirate, including those in nursery schools.
The decision has been taken as part Covid precautionary measures and after the approval of the emirate’s local emergency, crisis and disaster management team (ECDMT), SPEA director Ali Al Hosani told Khaleej Times.
Al Hosani said he is confident that the shift to 100 per cent distance learning will be smooth, considering that all Sharjah schools are well equipped for virtual classes. Since last year, 90 per cent of students in the emirate have been studying remotely.
Besides Sharjah, Ajman has also moved to full-time distance learning, according to an announcement on Tuesday.
The SPEA, along with ECDMT, will be monitoring the health situation to ensure the safety of students, teachers and administrative staff, Al Hosani said.
The attendance of teaching and administrative staff on the campus will be left to the discretion of schools’ management teams, he added. However, he reiterated that all precautionary measures must be followed, including PCR tests every two weeks.
“We also emphasise the need to fill out daily reports on the TAMAM platform (the daily educational operations report and the positive case report) during that period and beyond. (Based on Circular No. 60 of 2020 for schools + Circular No. 96 of 2020 for nurseries),” Al Hosani said.
He called on educational, administrative and technical staff to get the vaccine during this e-learning period to ensure the safe return of face-to-face classes.
