Abu Dhabi — Registration for students in adult education centres and home schooling programmes for academic year 2015-2016 is now open until May 14, 2015.
According to the Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) applicants for home schooling programmes can register online at www.adec.ac.ae and then complete the registration procedures at any Adec customer service centres.
Meanwhile, registration for the adult education centres can be done at the centres within applicants’ residential areas. Applicants should bring all certificates and documents required for registration.
Enrolment in all grades includes Emiratis and their children; while enrolment in foundational and complementary courses include children of expatriates, first and second-degree relatives of Emirati nationals and Arab expatriates.
All other Arabic-speaking nationalities are allowed to enrol in home schooling.
Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Adec’s executive director of school operations, said the council is keen to support all students in order to help them continue their studies.
According to him, around 6,000 students are enrolled in adult education centres and 4,600 in home schooling programmes in the emirate. Students are enrolled at 34 centres in Abu Dhabi, 10 of which offer morning classes and the rest evening classes.
