Dubai Police A team became the champions of the second edition of the UAE SWAT Challenge on Thursday after achieving the highest overall score in the five days of various challenges that displayed the readiness and combating skills of 64 teams from 26 nations.
Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, crowned the Dubai Police team that scored 198 points to win the prize money of $70,000. Russia's Vitaez team came in second place with a total of 193 points, while Belarusian team SOBR achieved the third place with 185 points.
Facing a number of tough obstacles, all participating teams showed exceptional skills and team spirit in their effort. In five days of rapid acts, shooting skills and response to various adventurous situations were tested.
Maj-Gen Al Marri said that the experience from this year's challenge will be taken into consideration in the next years SWAT Challenge. He added that the challenge allows all teams to learn from each other and get different experiences.
