The incident is believed to have happened on April 9.
An Indian driver, 23, said that he learnt from a worker about a fight in a room at the workers accommodation in Jebel Ali.
"It was after 9.30pm. I entered the room and saw the accused spitting blood. The accused was sitting on a bed," he told the investigating prosecutor.
He called the ambulance. Paramedics found the victim dead on the ground.
The driver added that the victim had a stab wound in the upper right side of his chest.
"I learnt that they fought after the accused turned off the lights and the victim turned them on again several times. They engaged in a physical fight before the accused stabbed the victim. The accused was not injured".
