An Asian man with no identification documents was arrested in Dubai after being caught with nearly a kilogramme of cannabis wrapped in a suspicious parcel, authorities have said.
When the 43-year-old was nabbed, the police had to run a DNA test to determine his identity, according to public prosecution records. The case dated back to May 4 this year. The Dubai Police found that he was on the emirate’s wanted list and his DNA had long been in the database of the authoritities.
After being caught in possession of 980.17g of cannabis, the suspect is now facing charges at the Dubai Criminal Court.
