The Sharjah Police on Thursday arrested two Arab nationals for robbing bank customers in various emirates.
Col Mussabah Al Ajil, Director of CID at Sharjah Police, said the suspects would follow their victims from the banks to their homes or work places and then steal the cash when the victim got out of his car.
During the course of investigation, the police found that the suspects had entered the country on a visit visa. They were arrested and they confessed to their crime during interrogation. The case has been referred to the public prosecution.
Col Al Ajil said the police would not tolerate anyone affecting the stability and peace of the country. The police are also organising awareness campaigns to educate bank customers about precautionary measures to take while receiving cash from banks. Police will be deployed around banks during working hours, he said.
