Fujairah - Two Emirati brothers, aged 16 and 17, were killed when the car they were travelling in veered off the road and crashed into a tree in Dibba Fujairah city on Monday. The car’s driver survived the crash and is recuperating in a city hospital with serious injuries.
Lieutenant-Colonel Dr Saeed Mohammed Al Hassani, Head of Information and Moral Guidance Section at the Fujairah Police, said the police were notified about the accident on Al Faqait street in the evening. Police patrols and paramedics dispatched to the site found that the car had crashed into a tree on the median of the Khor Fakkan-Dibba main road.
“The car jumped the median before crashing into the tree and flipped over several times before it came to rest in an upside-down position. The brothers were killed on the spot,” said Dr Al Hassani.
The driver was admitted to the intensive care unit of a nearby hospital. The Fujairah Public Prosecution directed the police to hand over the bodies to the family. -salah@khaleejtimes.com
