Nine warehouses destroyed in Sharjah fire
A big blaze gutted nine warehouses in Sharjah putting assets worth millions of dirhams to ashes. The fire in Industrial Area 6 started at 9.25pm on Saturday and took fire fighters from Sharjah, Ajman and Dubai about an hour to control the blaze, according to Brigadier Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, director of the Sharjah Civil Defence.
The warehouses stored hardware, furniture and other merchandise. Fire fighters are still establishing the cause of the fire that was believed to have started from a hardware warehouse, he said.
