Glass bottles, plastic and rubble from the perfume warehouse were removed by specialist civil defence units from Rashidya, Barsha, Port Rashid and Hamariya Civil Defence on Thursday. White smoke was visible even a day after the massive blaze.

Mahmood Hamed, spokesperson of the Dubai Civil Defense, said that the cooling operations continued until Thursday. Strong winds and flammable material re-ignited the fire and hence officials had to continue the cooling operation for hours. Also, debris and waste had to be removed in order to hand over the site to forensic experts who are still investigating the cause of the fire.

The road opposite the warehouse remained cordoned off as water and foam from the fire-fighting operation seeped onto the roads. More than eight civil defence vehicles and fire engines were on site as a precautionary measure and to prevent the fire from spreading.
