The defendant allegedly threatened to kill the complainant if he did not drop his accusations of property trespassing at the police station. He was also charged with abusing telecommunication services to harass the complainant.

A Chinese manager, 52, confirmed during the prosecution investigation that he had heard the defendant threatening the complainant on his mobile phone. He was with another man when he heard the conversation on the phone which was put on speaker.

The defendant was heard threatening to kill the complainant and his family back in China with the help of a gangster there. The defendant wanted the complainant to drop his complaint with the Rashidiyah Police in which he accused the former of trespassing into his property.

Another Chinese man, a 38-year-old doctor, who allegedly heard the conversation, confirmed the manager’s statement. The threat dated back to November last year.
