Virender Sehwag made an attacking half-century, hitting eight fours and a six in his 51 not out off 50 balls as India began its chase of South Africa’s massive 620-4 declared.

Gautam Gambhir was 33 not out with three fours as India faced 17 overs.

Earlier, Jacques Kallis made his first double century in tests as three of South Africa’s five batsmen making centuries. Kallis was 201 not out off 270 balls.

India was bowled out for 136 in bowler-friendly conditions in its first innings but made a steadier start to its second.
