India beat Australia in Mohali test to take 1-0 lead

MOHALI, India - India crushed Australia by 320 runs in the second test to seize a 1-0 series lead in the four-match series on Tuesday. Left-arm paceman Zaheer Khan grabbed three quick wickets on the final morning before Australia, set an improbable victory target of 516 runs, were all out for 195 before lunch.

Khan struck in the first over of the day to bowl Brad Haddin on his overnight 37 before having Cameron White (1) caught behind and bowling Brett Lee first ball to be on a hat-trick.

Leg-spinner Amit Mishra removed the last two batsmen to claim seven wickets on his test debut after taking five in the first innings.

Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh grabbed three wickets and paceman Ishant Sharma two on Monday to leave Australia, reduced to 141 for five overnight, facing defeat.

The first test in Bangalore ended in a draw. The third test starts in New Delhi on Oct. 29
