Deccan Chargers beat Daredevils to make IPL final

Deccan Chargers defeated Delhi Daredevils by six wickets in the first semi-final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the SuperSport Park here Friday.

Indian Premier League title favourites Delhi Daredevils overcame the loss of two batsmen in the first over to make 153-8 off 20 overs in their semi-final against Deccan Chargers on Friday.

Deccan Chargers captain Adam Gilchrist won the toss and asked Delhi Daredevils to bat in the first semi-final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the SuperSport Park here Friday.

Delhi captain Virender Sehwag said he would have opted to bat first on a Centurion Park pitch that looks good for batting.

“It’s a tough ground to defend on this. History shows that,” Gilchrist said.

Deccan has failed to beat Delhi in four attempts in the two-year history of the IPL.

Delhi finished on top of the standings, while Deccan came fourth.
