The Bahrain health ministry has reported 524 new cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 489 recoveries.

Of the new cases, 271  were among expatriate workers, 251 were contacts of active cases, and two were travel related.

Four new fatalities were also reported, taking total number of deaths to 121.

As many as 9,463 Covid-19 tests were carried out on July 16, the ministry said, taking the total number of recoveries to 30,809.

There are currently 48 Covid-19 cases in a critical condition, and 90 cases receiving treatment. 4,106 cases are stable out of a total of 4,154 active cases.
