Dubai's Global Village has paid a fitting tribute to the UAE's heroes who are battling the coronavirus pandemic on the frontlines.
At the end of its seven fireworks shows to usher in the New Year 2021 in seven time zones, the destination put up a stunning fireworks and fountain show dedicated to the frontline heroes.
The show called 'High Hopes for Heroes' honoured "the incredible frontline heroes who worked so hard to keep us safe in 2020".
At the end of the show, Global Village staff and guests gave a standing ovation to "doctors, nurses, paramedics, testing and care staff, cleaning crews, police, ambulance services, civil defence and all the many individuals who sacrificed their own safety to care for their communities all over the world over the past year".
